Will the fines make me guilty and will it go on my record?

More details to this question:
I received a citation for theft under $50. The cop told me it was like a warning and would not affect my job, life, etc.

DO NOT PLEAD GUILTY OR JUST PAY THE FINES FOR A THEFT. You should at least get deferred adjudication and have it not go on your record. Paying the fine could mean pleading guilty. Hire a competent attorney and do not plead guilty.
