More details to this question:
Today while I was driving to work, I came upon some roadwork that I wasn't expecting. I only recently received my Driver's License so there are still certain things that I'm getting used to, so the road work through me off a little bit. Although I knew there was a light coming up, the combination of trying to maneuver my car between cones and the flashing light all around me distracted me. I ended up running the red light, which admittedly is completely on me. There was no accident, and there are no cameras in the towns that live and work in. There was a police car parked at the intersection with the lights flashing, but as I passed through he did not move to stop me or get out of the car. Perhaps he wrote my license plate down. I was wondering what the likelihood of me receiving a ticket for the violation is? Of course, I'll gladly pay it because I am in the wrong here, and I have never had any kind of violation before, but I'd like to know the chances of it just being let go.
