My friend got caught for petty theft at a kohls store by the camaras and they ask her questions and explained what she had done. Then tey took her to the pilice department and they took her picture and finger prints. Now she has a court next month and she is wondering what are they gonna tell her? Is she going to have a fine? Forgot to mention she is 18 and she has a clean record. This is her first bad thing she has done. This happened in the state of California. She should have a lawyer. This could involve a fine and or jail, if only one day. If she gets any jail for a misd theft it will be on her record for the rest of her life and she could be charged with a petty theft with a prior in the future which can be a felony.
