I have never heard of "summary" probation, but if you have two DUIs you will not get a gun license.

Having a DUI should not impact gun rights. A DUI is not a felony, unless you kill or seriously harm someone as a result of your DUI.

You have to look at the terms of your probation. Usually, people on probation cannot buy guns, but only a felony conviction prohibits you from ever owning a gun.

Thank you for your question, but you may be looking for a different state's laws. Rhode Island does not summary probation, per se.

Generally a DUI conviction will not interfere with your rights to own guns. Any felony conviction (which a DUI could be, if it is a 3rd within 10 years) will preclude you from purchasing or possessing guns. Any domestic violence misdemeanor conviction will preclude you from purchasing or possessing guns. Other than that, you are generally only prohibited from doing so if the judge specifically made it a condition of your probation (unlikely for a DUI).

You would have to look at the terms of your probation, but generally DUI convictions don't interfere with your gun rights. DUI's are misdemeanors, and only felon's are prohibited from possessing firearms. DUI's will effect cpl licensee's however.

There is not a law against a person convicted of one or even two DUI owns a gun. If you are on probation for DUI's you do not have to give up your guns.

Unless it was prohibited by court order (probation conditions), then you should be able to own a gun. Ask your PO for a copy of the prob condits or just ask the PO the question.

Unless you have some other conviction or reason you are not allowed to possess a firearm, a dui conviction, as far as I know, does not affect your right to possess a firearm.

If you are on probation for two dui cases, you should consider waiting until after the probation is completed successfully. If you were not convicted of a felony, your right to have a gun was not taken away.
