Can a summary retail theft be expunged from your record before five years?

I pled guilty to a summary retail theft in which I was given a non-traffic citation. I paid the fine but the charge still comes up on my criminal history. Its been four years with no criminal contact. do I have to wait for another year before I can get this expunged?

Yes.  You pleaded guilty to a summary criminal matter.  Summaries have a 5 year waiting period for expungement.
