Can an attorney handle my bench warrants without my appearance?
Asked on Nov 03rd, 2015 on Criminal Law - Michigan
More details to this question:
I was pulled over for speeding and was told I had 2 bench warrants. After calling it in, the officers released me. So the officers released me and said I was okay. However, when applying for some jobs, these warrants show up. One warrant fine was paid years ago and an officer unofficially looked it and said this should be closed. The other I had no knowledge of because I had moved to another county. What to do? Can an attorney handle this without my appearance? I am trying to avoid the chance of arrest.
