You can always plead not guilty to any and all charges and contest them. The issue will be whether or not the court will allow the prosecutor to amend the charges against you prior to trial. You should consult with an attorney as soon as possible to determine if you have a meritorious case and how best to contest it. Additionally, if the Chicago Police Officer does not appear in court for a minor moving violation, the court does not always grant a continuance and the case is dismissed. Again, please contact an experienced defense attorney to determine how best to proceed. Lori G. Levin Attorney at Law 180 N.
