QUESTION

Can I decide to serve time instead of two years probation?

Asked on Jul 06th, 2016 on Criminal Law - Minnesota
More details to this question:
I was charged with obstruction of legal processing (resisted arrest) in the state of Minnesota. I have never been in trouble before with the law and was given two years of probation. Am I able to sit time and if I am, how long would it be? I have three days credit already from when I was arrested.

Yes. It would be either 90 days or one year, depending on if you plead guilty to a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor.
