Can I get a lesser sentence for a first time possession charge?

More details to this question:
I was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. I had Vyvanse however, I have a prescription and have been taking medicine for ADHS since I was 13. I'm now 20. If I'm found guilty for whatever reason (worst case scenario) could I have a chance to get a lesser sentence than jail time? (First time felony offense).
