Can I get a record expunged without an attorney?

More details to this question:
I was arrested 4 years ago for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and it is the only thing on my record. I''m trying to get it expunged so I may enroll in nursing school.

Yes you absolutely can get a conviction expunged without having an attorney.  In fact, you can do any legal procedure on behalf of yourself (pro se) without having an attorney.  Of course, most legal procedures go smoother with the aid of an attorney. As far as getting the conviction expunged, you need to look up the municipal or county court where the case was pending.  Most have websites now.  Either search the website or call the clerk at the court and ask what the filing fee and if they have any standardized forms for a motion to expunge.  A lot of courts now have a form you can use.  If they do not have a form, then it would be advisable to hire an attorney.  Most should do expungements at pretty reasonable rates as they are not complex and do not take much time.   Simon W.
