It will not be easy for you to get your right to possess a gun as a Felon in Virginia.  It is normally a two step process:  first you would need to restore all your rights through the governor, and then you would need to petition a circuit court to regain your right to possess a gun.  The process takes a significant amount of time.  There are some other potential ways to get your gun rights back, but those are based upon the specifics of your case and you would need to consult with an attorney to find out if you are eligible. This answer is given in accordance with the laws of Virginia and may not be applicable in any other state.  It should not be construed as legal advice, as that would require a more thorough analysis of all of the facts involved in a specific case.  If you need further information or assistance, please feel free to contact my office for a consultation. Case results depend upon a variety of factors unique to each case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any future case.
