More details to this question:
In Illinois I was charged with DUI in 2006 and subsequently driving on revoked in 2008 due to my DUI. I did not live there and was just visiting although I am from there. I did not know that they had revoked my license. I went to handle both but was on a time crunch. They just want a fine and an alcohol assessment for DUI. The driving on revoked they said I needed a lawyer. I need to get my license in my current state of New Mexico. What should I do? Thanks.

Illinois is really cracking down on driving on revoked charges. This may also be a difficult situation because you are not in the state and probably don't want to come to court several times. If the judge told you that you needed a lawyer you will have to hire one unless you qualify for a public defender. Please feel free to contact me if you would like some assistance.
