If you are convicted of a felony and it remains on your record you are prohibited under the federal law from the ownership or possession of any firearm. Depending on your conviction, and other record previous and post, it might be possible for you to have the burglary conviction expunged either presently or in the near future if you are in Michigan. You should confer with an attorney to see what your possible courses of action.
