Can I remove a conviction from my record?

I was convicted of a petty theft in South Dakota four years ago. Is it possible to have this conviction removed from my record?

In my state, PA, you cannot expunge a conviction. Not sure about your state. Get your criminal record from the state and see what shows. THen, contact a lawyer for advice.
