About 30 days ago I was caught allegedly stealing 2600.00 from my place of employment. The owner called the police to have me arrested, and when the police got there the owner told the police he no longer wanted to press charges because we would work things out between ourselves. the officers told the owner that he’s taking a large risk letting me walk away because it would then become a civil matter. The agreement was to pay the money back within a week. I was not able to come up with the funds because I am not working. I tried to establish a payment plan, and every week he black mails me and tells me I need to come with the funds or he is pressing charges. He withheld my final paycheck and would not give it to me because he said it was the first payment. A co worker ended up giving me the final check, and he threatened me again that If I do not come by the end of the day he is pressing charges because I took my check. Can he press charges or will he have to rake me to civil court?
