Can I still request a reduction of my bond?

Asked on May 07th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Texas
More details to this question:
My fiancee has recently been arrested and has been in our county jail coming up on a month. I have hired an attorney, I asked her if we could request a reduction of bond and she said no, that there was alot more to it than that. He has been charged with a class B misdeameanor and a felony. He has court this week for the misdeameanor part, is it true that we can not request a reduction even though his bond was intially set at 100,000.00 at the time of arrest? Help!

One can always request a reduction, although there could be a reason the lawyer says no. This needs to be discussed with the lawyer. It may be that the amount is what is expected on that county for those charges.

You can request a reduction up until he pays the bond. 100k is a lot. Your lawyer should request a reduction.
