Can inmate get reinstated for probation after a four year run?

More details to this question:
He was charged in 2011 for burglary of building and gave him 3 year probation. He did one year probation and stopped going. It is now 2017. There are no new charges but they did pick him up for it.

In theory, yes, but in practice no. He is going to do some time. Absconders are not treated nicely by courts.
