Can loss prevention put their hands on a minor?

More details to this question:
My 15 year old son was caught stealing. When he walked out the store, their loss prevention personnel grabbed him and threw him on the floor. Is that right?

Depends on the force used versus necessary - likely the store's insurance carrier would not like this behavior as it could lead to serious injuries if you son was injured, not a bruise or scrape, but a real injury, then you may have a case - if not, then it was just bad behavior.
