Asked on Jun 16th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Texas
More details to this question:
A friend of mine went to jail for robbery. He didnt do it and has witnesses but they said since he was around it they charged him for it. While being in jail they put another robbery case on him which also wasnt him. His brother and cousin used his name but his brother admits that he did it and now my friend is facing two robberies? He has a court appointed lawyer who isnt doing much. But can he get on probation for it being his first felony?

Depends on his priors and whether the court allows it. Best chance though is with the best attorney you can afford.
