I was issued a warrant in 2011 in California for a second burglary. I now live in Virginia. I have been stopped twice and both warrants for the 2 burglary charges showed up but I wasnโ€™t taken in police custody.

That is because the State of California will not come and get you. the only way to deal with this is to get an attorney in California and go and deal with the charges.

If you have a warrant, you will have to go back to California to take care of the warrant. The case will not be dropped in California and the warrant will remain outstanding.

If you think they will just somehow be dropped, you are living in fantasy land. Until you deal with it, they will remain until the day you die.

You should hire a California attorney to make the first appearance in court for you. He can then contact you with information on the charges and advise you as to your course of action.

You would have to go to the courthouse in California for the warrants to be dropped. There may be a chance if you presented yourself that the Judge would hold you without bail until the cases are resolved.
