QUESTION

Can you get early release from a DWI probation?

Asked on May 10th, 2012 on DUI/DWI - Texas
More details to this question:
I'm currently on a 2 year probation sentence for a misdemeanor DWI. I've done all my court required classes, and am just about done paying them off, but my probation officer told me, that in the state of Texas, there is no early release for DWI probation. I want to fight this, if she is not accurate, I have a year left and am done with all objectives ordered by the court.

No. The law prevents early termination of DWI probations. That said, if you have done exceptionally, the judge can permit you to be put on mail-in status.
