QUESTION

Citation

Asked on Apr 30th, 2014 on Criminal Law - Florida
More details to this question:
I received a citation for driving with a suspended license without knowledge. When the data was input into the system the officer put 'with knowledge' which required a court appearance. I didn't receive the notice to appear in court and didn't find out about the court date until a day after when I called to inquire about paying my citation. I emailed the court to advise of my situation and that I had no knowledge of the court date. The judge was given that information and 2 weeks later issued a warrant for my arrest for missing court. What can I do to have this warrant lifted because it was a clerical error? Is there a way to do this without having to get a bails bond and have this go on my record?

Pretty simple - you need a motion to withdraw the warrant, which you can file but I always advise to have an experienced criminal defense attorney do. It will require a court appearance, most likely.
