More details to this question:
Someone is stopped by Campus Police who led them to an interrogation room and accusses them of identity theft. Without reading the girl her Miranda Rights, they search her bag and find 3 people's information, photos of taxes she did not take, some copies of forged birth certificates, social security card ( wither her signature on it) and name change court order ( with her signature on it ). Later two FBI agents come to the school and read the girl her Miranda Rights and ask her questions about her involvement in changing other people's names on student's Degrees. They caught her going to fax the documents over to another school in another state. She said that a boy she liked got her and told her to change the name on the degrees to hers and then to his. Then she is fingerprinted at the school then driven to her house by the school police and FBI. She voluntarily surrenders her laptop to the FBI agents. She asks the agents if she is in trouble and they reply no but she is not sure

the US Attorney controls both the investigation and the prosecution. the FBI agents work for the US Attorney. if i were this person, i would hire an attorney to 'jump in front of this prosecution' and thereby, mitigate the consequences. i would be 'pro-active' and not 're-active'. please call if we can help. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235
