QUESTION

Criminal charges by mail?

Asked on Aug 22nd, 2014 on Criminal Law - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I got 2 charges for paraphernalia. The police came to my house, asked me questions, left, and then about 9 days later I got a summons in the mail for a disorderly persons, which is like a misdemeanor. Anyway my question is can I geta criminal charge if I was not arrested, booked, read my rights, etc. That doesn't seem to procedural. I am currently underemployed, with only a min wage part time job and hiring a private attorney would be beyond my means. However if it means getting the cas dismissed I would. My court date is on Wednesday. I am applying for the teachingcorp and have a B.S. from Fordham. I cant tell my parents because it would ruin our relationship. Someone please help quick. I am going to loose it.

Update Your Profile
You must hire an attorney ASAP. Your attorney may be ae to obtain a Conditional Discharge which would allow for the charges to be dismissed. Do you have prior charges ? Discharges ? You cannot have this on your record. We would represent you if case in NJ. The legal fee would be $2500. Ed Dimon 732-797-1600
