2005 Son plead guilty to misd. drug charge in NJ living in NY. Was release & allowed to complete drug program in NY. I did and mailed info to probation office. 2013 & October 2014 receives cert. letter stating active warrant for unpaid fine of $1000. He never knew about fine. There are two legal issues. The first is the failure to pay the fine. The second is the potential Contempt of Court for the failure. If your son can pay the fine and avoid Contempt charge, he should pay the fine. The Court Clerk can tell him what is happening. Please call if we can help. Ed Dimon, Esq
