More details to this question:
I was recently denied a firearm purchase by NICS and while I do have drug arrests on my record for marijuana 2 to be exact, they were non convictions so how can a drug arrest but not convicted prohibit me legally? I know if I got an expungement the fbi can still see it so what am I to do? they were misdemeanors and also is there a time limit I have to wait to be available to purchase or am I banned for life to purchase unless I get an appeal?
It's "NCIC", the National Crime Information Center. You should not be prohibited from purchasing a firearm for misdemeanors, only felonies. You definitely should not be held up if you were never convicted of a crime. If you were convicted of a crime that would prohibit you from purchasing a firearm, you would need a pardon, not an expungment. There's a big difference.
