QUESTION

Do I need a lawyer?

Asked on May 15th, 2014 on Sex Crimes - New Jersey
More details to this question:
My son is 15 years old and attended a party where there was alcohol. A 15 year old girl remained at the party and solicited sex (oral) to 4 boys (all 15 year olds). This was 6 months ago and the girl has some insecurity issues and started bragging about it on a social media site and mentioned it in a classroom and used the word "rape" which supposedly forced the teacher who overhead the conversation to report it. She met with authorities in the school and said she had consensual sex with classmates and named the boys one of which was my son. Since the situation took place at someone's house the school only had to report it to the township police where the party was and call the parents. It just seems unreal that after 6 months this comes up. Just happens that these sophomore boys were asked to the Sr. Prom and apparently she was using this to draw attention to herself.
