The consequences for a DUI can vary greatly. It is a good idea to hire an experienced DUI attorney. They can increase the chances of staying out of jail, minimizing fines, alcohol program, other penalties, and potentially get the DUI dismissed and reduced to a lesser charge. Defending a DUI can be very complex, and court procedure on it's on is not something that is adequately learned by reading a blog on a website. I highly recommend that you speak with an experienced DUI attorney in your area about your case in more detail. They can then answer questions you may have about how they could potentially help you.

Yes you do. There are many ways to get one of these charges down to a lesser offense or avoid jail time. Get an expert. You can defend yourself in court and you can also take out your own appendix with a Swiss Army knife and no anesthetic. Both are equally foolproof and painless.

DUI/DWAI cases in Colorado are prosecuted by trained attorneys. The state's witnesses are trained and coached on how to testify. If you choose to represent yourself, you may miss a legal defense, presumption, or inference that could have made the difference in your case. DUI attorney's can provide guidance and build a legal defense, they are familiar with what judges / prosecutors are willing to offer, and they know what arguments could be used to obtain a lower charge and/or reduction of penalties. Just because you are accused of DUI in Colorado does not mean that you are guilty nor does it mean that the state can prove its case. Consulting with a DUI attorney with your specific facts can provide you real options for your situation.

Absolutely. DUI is one of the most complicated fields in defense, with its own set of criminal and civil laws. Hire a DUI specialist, and do it fast because you have only 10 days to save your license.

There is not another charge in District Court that is more complicated than DUI. You don't want to guess whether the State can use their evidence against you or not and you know the prosecutor isn't going to tell you the bad in his case. Get an attorney for sure. If you are in Eastern Washington State with this type of case contact me because I live in Moses Lake, WA and travel throughout Eastern WA handling all types of criminal offenses.
