Do my passengers have to give id when I'm pulled over for a traffic offense ?

no. the police do not have the right to check each person's ID after a valid 'stop' unless there are 'special circumstances' which would warrant the check. the problem is that the police will punish you for the failure to cooperate. ed dimon, esq 732-797-1600
