QUESTION

Do police usually act upon drug related texts?

Asked on Feb 10th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Maryland
More details to this question:
If someone was a big drug dealer who the police caught, along with other big drug dealers at the same time, what are the chances that the police will go after those who had attempted to make purchases from them in the past? What about if the person contacting the drug dealer was just middle-manning for someone else?

This really depends on how motivated the detective is. Sometimes they are just looking for the big fish. Other times the detective seems like he's bucking for a promotion and works hard to bring in as many people as possible. Remember not to make any statements to the police without a lawyer. Also, do not confess to any crimes online.
