More details to this question:
My 19 year old son was found in parking lot sleeping in his car after midnight. Police smelled alcohol and cuffed him. They searched him and the car. Found under an ounce of marijuana and half empty bottle of rum in his backpack. No sobriety tests done. Not booked only given ticket and told to appear for a hearing.

If the hearing is for the ticket for marijuana possession, then you do not need an attorney. If the ticket includes any crimianl charges, such as drunk driving then you should hire an experienced criminal attorney. Your son does not want any criminal charge on his record. Stopping the criminal charge from issuing at the hearing stage will prevent the creation of any criminal record. For more information see my website.
