Does a notary public need to be able to sign and stamp it?

More details to this question:
My father died I dealt with money and now I have given papers to be signed from the notary public I have 3 brothers and 1 sister and they said that notary public won't sign unless I provide what amount money was left and all receipts is this trued. I would like to know what exactly.

It sounds as if your fathers estate us under probate. A Notary only verifies your signature and that you are signing freely and voluntarily.
