QUESTION

Does a Restricted License Lapse After a DUI Conviction?

Asked on May 23rd, 2013 on DUI/DWI - Washington
More details to this question:
Next Tues, May 28, I will be eligible to get my restricted license since I will be beyond 30 days in my 4-month suspension from the DMV, have enrolled in a 3-month DUI program, and my insurance company has sent Form SR 22 to the DMV. My DUI happened in Ventura and my BAC was 2.0. My court hearing is June 10 and I'm sure I'll be facing additional time of license suspension, DUI school, among other penalties based on the BAC level. My question is, if I get a restricted license next Tues and then another license suspension is given at my court hearing June 10, will the current restricted license be suspended and I'll have to wait 30 more days to reapply for another restricted license?

No, it doesn't. You should be able to keep driving on the restricted license, assuming you continue to do the program, have IID, and comply with other DMV conditions.
