Does an arrest show up on a background check? Or only a conviction?

More details to this question:
Long story short I was arrested for something I didn't do. I obtained a lawyer. The evidence found in the discovery shows the female in the photo. Im looking for a new job, if a background check is ran will the arrest show up? Or only if Im convicted?

an arrest will appear on your record if the arresting authorities acted properly. we can check to determine what the record will show. i would also think about getting the arrest 'expunged'. after the expungement is granted, you can legally answer that you have not been arrested. the cost is $1500. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600
