QUESTION

driving without insurance(misdemeanor/disorderly persons offense)?

More details to this question:
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of New Jersey. Is driving without insurance in new jersey and being pulled over and ticketed for 39:6B-2 considered a misdemeanor/disorderly persons offense? From my research in a lot of states it is but i cant find anything about NJ. In new jersey there is no such thing as misdemeanor, there is however petty disorderly persons offense/disorderly persons offense. The only thing that i could find on petty disorderly persons offense/disorderly persons offence is as follow: (C.39:6B-2), and is involved in a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian is guilty of a: (1) petty disorderly persons offense if the accident results in bodily injury to the pedestrian; (2) disorderly persons offense if the accident results in serious bodily injury to the pedestrian; http://legiscan.com/NJ/text/A2251/id/938903 This is for 39:6B-2 ON TOP of a motor vehicle accident with a pedestrian. Is a 39:6B-2 alone not considered a petty/disorderly offence?

these violations are traffic violations unless you fail to address and/or fail to follow the requirements. then, they can become quasi-criminal violations in municipal court.  ed dimon, esq.
