QUESTION

Failure to represent

Asked on Feb 08th, 2014 on DUI/DWI - Florida
More details to this question:
The lawyer I hired to represent a friend failed to show up at not only the first appearance, but the second appearance as well resulting in a public defender being assigned and no bond given. How would I get back the money I paid the lawyer since I obviously didn't get what I paid for.

Update Your Profile
Start by contacting your lawyer in writing asking for a refund of fees paid and explaining your reasons. Give the lawyer a reasonable amount of time to respond, and if no response, then contact the Florida Bar to file a complaint against the lawyer.
