More details to this question:
i currently have NY driving license. i was pulled over by NJ police for driving in the left lane. as i was informed the tickets puts 2 points on my license, my question is if i should hire a lawyer, because i dont want my insurance to go up, or since i have NY license it wont effect. in addition ive seen that points will go down if i have no violation in a full yr,

you can hire an attorney so that you do not receive the two points on your driving and insurance record. the two points will 'go away' from the driving record after one year. i would use an attorney and avoid both the points and the 'record'. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600
