QUESTION

Fighting no turn on red ticket

Asked on Jan 30th, 2015 on Traffic Violations - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I got a turning on red citation and will have to go to court. I swear I really didn't see the "no turn on red" sign, for the reasons below: 1) The visibility of the sign was limited because: a. There is a new "ped xing" sign installed in the last year, which obscures the no turn on red sign (99%) from a distance. I believe that the municipal government should not install the pedestrian xing sign here. b. The no turn on red sign is installed not very close to the intersection, thus cannot be seen when I stopped right at the white line. c. in conclusion, I can neither see the no turn sign from a distance, nor when stop at the intersection. There's only a 40ft window for me to see it. 2. According to online calculation tools, the sun was setting and sunlight was shooting almost directly into my eyes at that time. It impaired my sight greatly. Not sure these are valid arguments, or should I just plead guilty and get points. Thanks!

You must make an economic decision. We have a certified trial attorney who has been a prosecutor for 30 years. He would represent you at the trial for this ticket. The representation would be excellent. However, the cost would be $5000. It would be far less expensive to pay the ticket. It is your decision. We would like to help.
