filing motion for a new trial

More details to this question:
I was convicted by jury on the 8th of dec. my att. quit on me that day. he never informed me of my rights on motions or appeal. he gave me a card of another att. of whom I tried to contact for weeks . I finally got ahold of them on 6th of January. but got no answers from him. this is in Utah. I have evidence to prove my innocence that my att. would not let me submit. I am indeed innocent. can I file for new trial? appeal? please help me with info on this I don't have much time. I sentence on the 27th of Jan.

A motion for a new trial must be filed within 14 days after sentencing.  See Utah Cim. Rule 24.     An appeal must be filed 30 days after sentencing.     I just filed two of these.     Good luck.
