How can a DUI be expunged?

More details to this question:
My grandson got a DUI .3 above the maximum 3 years ago. He was told by his flight attendant school that he cannot work for an airline for 5 years because they treat it as a felony. Is that true and also, can that be expunged and how would he apply for that?Thank you so much for considering these questions.

Under Washington law, expungement refers to removing an arrest record from police databases. This can not be done if the person ended up with any conviction out of that arrest. In some cases however, a conviction can be "vacated" off someone's public record. DUI's are not eligible for vacation, but lesser DUI related offenses are, including negligent driving or reckless driving.
