How can a wrongful arrest be removed from my records?
Asked on Sep 28th, 2012 on Expungements - Michigan
More details to this question:
I was 19 and arrested for failing to appear in court. My lawyer had sent the papers to the court clerk saying I already had a lawyer and wouldn't be attending an arraignment. The clerk didn't file the paper and I was arrested wrongfully. The charges were dropped but I still have an arrest on my record. It is embarrassing every time I apply for a job they ask me what the arrest was for. Can I sue for this? It is getting old and since I’m working now it is catching up with me.
