More details to this question:
One felony when I was 17 years and one when I was 19 years, I got convicted and sentence to a three year in the department of correction. I am 46 and never got any trouble since then. I was told from a friend that I can request expungement or a pardon from the governor. Is this true or is this something that I have to live with for the rest of my life?

You do not qualify for an expunction. Expunctions are only available for cases in which the charges were dropped or the person was found not guilty. You can apply for a pardon but truthfully, it is very unlikely to be granted and it is a very expensive process.
