You have to file a notice of appeal. There are different time limits depending on what you are appealing.

By timely filing all the required pleadings that demonstrate the legal and factual grounds you allege justify your appeal. If you don't know how to represent yourself effectively in legal research, pleadings and court proceedings, then hire an attorney who does. If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if the charges are in SoCal courts.

There are papers to be filed with the appellate court and the transcript has to be ordered. Get a lawyer.

Get an attorney. Appeals are highly complicated, and most attorneys don't even know how to do it properly, let alone yourself.

Hire an attorney to file the appeal today or extremely promptly. he reason I say this is that time deadlines for filing appeals are very short and the procedural technicalities require strict compliance. One seemingly "minor" mistake and you are out for good. I assume that your case is of value to you and I am certain that based on this value, it is worth it to you not to neglect to retain an experienced attorney to provide the required legal service. I wish you the best.
