how can i get a misdomeanor charge expinged off my record?

More details to this question:
I had jus turned 18 when it happened and im now 20. no mess ups with the law since I did it 2 yrs ago. im walking a straight line im in college trying to be a medical assistant and im afraid this on my record will effect my chances of having the career I want. I live in wv but it happened in Winchester va. I pled out was found guilty and I did 50 hrs community service to pay off the court fees and I paid the restitution. I wanna know if I can get it off my record and how I can do so please help.

consult with a local lawyer in VA. in PA, you can only expunge if you were not convicted. it sounds like you may not have been convicted, but the arrest records and various data is still in the system, which you can expunge through a lawyer.
