How could I avoid shoplifting getting on my record?

More details to this question:
I got caught shoplifting and at first, I had given them false information but when the cops came they got the real info. I was placed in handcuffs. I was taken down to the precinct and they took my photo and did fingerprints. Now, I have a court date next month.
