QUESTION

How do I drop rape charges before he finds out?

Asked on Sep 30th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Texas
More details to this question:
I had been seeing a guy and we had consensual sex several times but the last encounter he forced himself inside me even though I said no several times. He did not use violence though. I filed a report and pressed charges because I was mad. But after a few weeks he has reached out and wants to make things right and treat me better. He says he misses me and will start respecting me. I want to give him another chance. How do I get the charges dropped before he finds out about this. He doesn't know anything about me pressing charges. He keeps asking to see me and I want to see him so bad but I feel that would be bad for my case. I'm not even sure I want to drop the charges because I don't even know if he has really changed.

You would have to call the DA and drop the charges or the police that took your statement. However, I'd go with a lawyer so they don't get you for filing a false report.
