QUESTION

How do I get a gubernatorial pardon?

Asked on Oct 24th, 2013 on Expungements - Michigan
More details to this question:
My OUIL 3rd conviction was in 2002, one year after the new July 1, 2001 law took affect which means I cannot possess a firearm or bullet void of a gubernatorial pardon even though all 3 offenses were simple police stop & arrests void of victim or injured party. (No one to confront on the witness stand) What are the steps for a pardon in Michigan? Also, I cannot find the MCL law that specifies the new law of July 1, 2001? Could you provide this to me so I can read it myself.

You have 3 convictions for drunk driving and you want our governor to pardon you so you can carry a gun? What part of this story do you think is sympathetic enough to warrant a pardon?

save your energy, driving violations - civil infractions, misdemeanors or felonies - by statute, cannot be expunged. you can contact the gov office for more directions on pardons but absent some extraordinary circumstances, pardons are not easily obtained. you have not indicated any special reason why you should be considered especially as a repeat offender but good luck. i think your time and money would be better spent on substance abuse counseling...you appear to still be in denial...?by the way the arresting officer was the witness to confront...by the way part 2, did you have trials all 3 times or did you plead guilty in any/all cases?
