More details to this question:
My fiancé a got drink and we got into a verbal argument. He was screaming and throwing food in the sink. I called the police. He left the house. They picked him up later just to talk to him but he was verbally abusive and aggressive. The police station just called me telling me he would be released and the judge had put a protective order. It was a verbal argument.

You have to contact the prosecutor and tell him you want the protective order lifted. He may refuse, and wait until the hearing in front of the judge, where you have a right to tell the judge what you want.
