I got my DUI 2 years ago and my court decision was moved down to a reckless driving due to having a local lawyer. I have been on probation for about 17 months. My probation sentence is 3 years, paid the last of my fees 2 months ago, and completed my alcohol classes about 6 months ago. I am trying to understand if I have a chance at terminating my probation early (with or without a lawyer) since I am about to graduate from college this year (so I need it for better job placement). I need to be off probation to apply for citizenship which is my main concern. I know that I need to show good cause to be considered for early termination. Can any of these circumstances help me out, or maybe even hiring the same lawyer that I had for my actual case would make a difference? Thank you for any advice.
