QUESTION

How do I get my valuables back?

Asked on Jan 20th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Minnesota
More details to this question:
I made a police report and even had the police on the scene. They collected stories from both parties. I had them check security cameras in the area but they were not helpful. I have receipts for two of the items stolen. The value of the property stolen is well over 500. I have video and pictures to prove these valuables are mine. The problem started when the person thought I owe her 100 when it's only 50. She broke into my vehicle and stole my guitars for supposed payment. What are my options?

A bit of a vague question, but if I understand this correctly a person stole your guitars for payment and the police won't do anything? This sounds like a perfect case for conciliation court (small claims court). Go to your court administrator and get the forms it's pretty self-explanatory.
